You do not have to be registered or plan to attend the 2024 AATCP Treatment Court Conference to attend. \nDate: April 9\, 2024 1p.m. to 5p.m. (Check in begins at 12:30p.m.)\nLocation: Granite Mountain Room\, Prescott Resort and Conference Center\nCost: FREE \nOverview \nAlthough prevalence estimates vary\, there is consensus that high percentages of justice-involved\nwomen and men have experienced serious trauma throughout their lifetime. The reverberating effects\nof trauma experiences can challenge a person’s capacity for recovery and pose significant barriers\nto accessing services\, often resulting in an increased risk of coming into contact with the\ncriminal justice system.\n\nObjectives\nHow Being Trauma-Informed Improves Criminal Justice System Responses is a training program for\ncriminal justice professionals to:\n\nIncrease understanding of trauma\nCreate an awareness of the impact of trauma on behavior\nDevelop trauma-informed responses\n\nTrauma-informed criminal justice responses can help to avoid re-traumatizing individuals\, and\nthereby increase safety for all\, decrease recidivism\, and promote and support recovery of\njustice-involved women and men with serious mental illness. Partnerships across systems can also\nhelp to link individuals to trauma-informed services and treatment for trauma.\n\nProgram Participants\nThis highly interactive training is specifically tailored to community-based criminal justice\nprofessionals including:\n\nCommunity corrections (probation\, parole\, and pre- trial services officers)\nCourt personnel\nPolice\nOther human service providers
